  • Dead roach of noticeable girth. Fortunately we didn't see any live ones.
  • Our dinner making it's way from the kitchen to the dining room, with adult supervision.
  • Curious sign posted by the main desk. We never did see a New Orleans Police Officer on duty.
  • View looking out to the street from our "secured" parking lot with the familiar "yellow" and "green" houses.
  • One of the residents across the street from our compound exiting the "green" house.
  • Another gentleman living in the "yellow" house across the street from our compound.
  • David on "gate duty" closing us in for the day.
  • David across the street from our compound on Simon Bolivar Ave, surveying the neighborhood.
  • Shelly and David in the parking lot before setting out for a days work.
  • Group picture in our parking lot right before we head out in our 3 groups to work for the first time.
  • In front of our compound in the Peoples United Methodist Church.
  • Toby & David leading a morning song in the Church before we receive our work assignments.
  • Joel, David and Phyllis enjoying a lighter moment before we head out to our jobs.
  • Another "fisheye" shot, this one in Claire's van with reaction.
  • Joel explaining to Jay how high the water rose.
  • Merv in a contemplative moment, backlit.
  • Edna Massey's son explaining the difficulty in staying in touch when you are displaced from your home.
  • Joel and Edna Massey renewing their friendship. Last years group from Rodef Sholom worked on Edna'a house.
  • Claire handing a check to Edna that had been lost in the mail for almost 1 year. The group solicits donations from family and friends prior to leaving to donate to specific folks that we meet and work with.
  • Sweet moment between Claire and Edna. Edna's health has been failing since last year's visit and she was very appreciative of the gift we gave her. Edna and her son are still not able to move back into their home.
