Marine 50767 crash landed at the Hagaru-ri emergemcy air strip near the Chosin Reservoir on 1 Dec, 1950, the 1st day it was open to larger C-47/R4D aircraft. It was carrying a full load of artillery ammo. It was piloted by Capt. Paul Noel, USMC and the crew members were T/Sgt. Dave Schwitzer, USMC, and Sgt. Keith MacLeod, USMC. The crew escaped with minor injuries but the aircraft was not salvagable and was destroyed when the Marines abandoned the Hagaru-ri air strip on 6 Dec. 1950. The aircraft seen taking off over the burning aircraft is from the Greek Air Force, and is most likely the same Greek aircraft shown in a previous photo on this page.<br />
